Simplement parce que, pour la première fois, le cinéaste s'arrête de battre la campagne, se pose sur un bout de plage devant le miroir d'un lac, et expose sa nudité d'homme et d'artiste comme jamais auparavant.

The acting is superb for all the characters. You have to take it on it's own terms. It skips from 'present' to 'past' back and forth but it is very important to the movie to see how it plays. Pay special attention to the 'connections' that play between the characters. It is very well expressed. The boy says he can 'hear' his parents. Well it is apparent that the parents and the child ARE connected on a level that only the child seems to be aware of. But his awareness and the genius he expresses in musical form clearly shows that he is set apart from the rest of us. Note with small spoiler: When the parents meet, there is a musician playing in the square below them… I believe that this is 'Wizard' that finds the boy 11 years later. At least the time line and the figure with the same hat he wears seems to be him. And with all the connections and coincidences going on in this movie, I wouldn't be surprised. A must watch for anyone looking for a feel good movie!
